Farming

Take action: show your support for organic farmers
Increased wildlife, more jobs on farms and higher animal welfare to name a few – organic farms deliver the benefits that citizens want to see in agriculture, yet UK organic farmers currently receive the lowest payments across the whole of the EU. Without the right support for our organic farmers, we may see more organic food imported into the UK. You can support organic farmers right now by letting Defra know that you want money invested in farming which benefits people and planet. Defra are running a consultation on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) due to end Thursday 28th November, this is your chance to let them know how you think CAP money should be spent in England.
See the Soil Association website for a guide to submitting your response and points you might like to include.
