Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan: Draft Oil and Gas Exploration, Production and Distribution SPD

A draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) on “Oil and Gas Exploration, Production and Distribution SPD” has been prepared for consultation between 7 October and 18 November 2016.

The SPD will supplement the Council’s existing planning policies and will provide additional detail and guidance for planning applicants and decision makers on how the Council will assess and deal with planning applications relating to onshore oil and gas development. When adopted, the SPD will form part of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Local Development Framework and will be a material consideration for planning applications.

They would welcome any comments which you may wish to make regarding the SPD. Comments received between Friday 7 October and Friday 18 November 2016 will be considered by the Council before the document is finalised and adopted.

A New Plastic Waste Recycling System for Cheshire West and Chester
Throughout West Cheshire we’re now able to recycle a lot more of our plastic waste. They’ll take drinks bottles, shampoo and detergent bottles, butter and margarine tubs, fruit punnets, clean food trays (other than black), yoghurt pots, plastic egg trays, and plastic packaging from toys and Easter Eggs.
They won’t take bags, film or bubble wrap, or other film wrapping, black plastic, cassettes, videos and their cases, buckets, bowls, plant pots, food storage containers (eg Tupperware®), biodegradable plastics, children’s toys, CD cases, lined cardboard cartons (eg Tetrapak®), DIY and garden product containers. This is because the sorting technique involves light, so black plastics are excluded.
The items are propelled in appropriate directions by jets of air - so film plastic is excluded. At the local depot, the plastics are squished
into bales for transport to Leicester - so rigid plastics are another exception.
The material gets compacted and taken to J&A Young of Leicester for sorting by colour and type, and flaking for future use.
For information on the process, see cheshirewest.tv website for a video, and LetsRecycle
See the leaflet for full details.
All change later in 2012 when the new waste operator steps in!
