Community Transport Options for Mid Cheshire

Wednesday March 13th 12 – 2 pm 2013 at Hartford Golf Club, Burrows Hill, Northwich CW8 3AP

We are inviting a range of organisations to attend this lunchtime session to discuss various options to improve community transport in the area, and to develop sustainable business solutions for the provision of community transport.

Cheshire Community Development Trust is interested in exploring the potential to develop group transport schemes in the area and is hosting an event to explore the different options with potential partner organisations.

The event is aimed at organisations who are interested in the following:

Group transport – options for hiring vehicles for group transport for organisations who do not have their own vehicles or who may need additional vehicles during peak times

Transport sharing – options to share vehicles for organisations who own their own vehicles including mini-buses and who would like to be able to earn more income

Driver Training – the potential for establishing local training options for organisations who have their own drivers, including volunteer drivers, for a range of courses including MIDAS for minibus drivers

Development of community car schemes for service users of organisations

We hope that you will be able to attend the session and as the session includes lunch please let us know if you can attend and if you have any special requirements by emailing aneilcheshirecdt.org.uk or telephoning 01606 723180.

We look forward to hearing from you

The Rooms 4 Hire website is now hosted by Cheshire West and Chester Council, with the data and content managed by Chester Voluntary Action. It’s an online database of low cost venues suitable for community use. As it started in Chester, currently most of the rooms are there, but CWAC would like it to cover the whole borough more thoroughly (there are currently 4 venues listed in Northwich, 1 in Winsford). Improvements are currently being made to raise the profile of the Rooms 4 Hire project on the Council’s website and you can access the facility at:- http://apps.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/CommunityRooms/Public/Home.aspx

VAVR Services

Volunteer Community Car Scheme: Drivers Wanted
Cheshire Community Development Trust is looking for willing volunteer Drivers to join a Community Car Scheme operating within Northwich, Winsford and the surrounding areas. The scheme aims to help those who are isolated and perhaps don’t have any friends or family to help them, to attend hospital or doctor’s appointments or a range of other appointments or events. As a volunteer you can give as much or as little time as you are able. All they ask is that you have a car, are willing to undertake a CRB check and enjoy meeting new people and helping out within your local community. They are able to pay you some expenses to cover the cost of petrol etc. Poster
